I would make sure that you compare a student's score from last year to their score this year. One of my frustrations as a teacher is that last year's juniors are compared to this year's juniors. Some years we improve from the sophomore scores by leaps and bounds, but it doesn't show up on reports because we don't use data on the same kids, but the same grades. I hope that makes sense. :)
